Dear Diary,

I am in love with cities I've never been to and people I've never met.

Call me a dreamer, full of ambitions and dreams. Some reachable, some not. I've dreamt of exploring the world, a camera in one hand and food on the other. Yes, a camera for taking pictures of course and, well, food. I want to try the different recipes that each city bring. From simple homemade dishes to desserts! Ahhhh ~

Have you ever experienced love at first sight, though? Do you believe in love at first sight? I do. But that doesn't mean it will stay permanent. Someday, somehow it'll fade. But the memory of it will remain. That's the fun part. Reminiscing those memories after years of forgetting them.

There are just times that make you wish you could stop and do the things you actually want, without restrictions and limitations.

This is exactly that time.

25 July 2013

Dear Diary,

If good things lasted forever, would we appreciate how precious they are?

I've learned to notice the little (by little, I mean not-so-extravagant) acts or thoughts a person has done for me. I've learned to appreciate these little things rather than expect something more from a person. I'm done with expecting acts of greater heights. A long time ago, actually. I'm already happy with this feeling I've been experiencing quite frequently for the past few months and it's something I want to feel for the rest of my life.

I'm content.

23 July 2013

Dear Diary,

Hi, I miss you. I miss you everyday, and the next days to come. From the second you kiss my cheek goodbye and part ways, I miss you already. Exaggerating but true. When will I see you again?

10 Habits of a Happy Relationship

If you're in a relationship, take time to read this. If you're not, you should too! :)

1. Solve Arguments Peacefully - Notice yourself fighting your better half more lately? The only quick-fix is to stop doing it. The best couples are those who know when their partner is angry and when not to talk back to him/her. During fights, it is best to keep as calm and collected as possible and to not fight back. As long as one side stays calm, the other will follow. Things won’t go As far as broken dishes and hearts if arguments are avoided and solved quickly.

2. Spend More Quality Time Together -  One-on-one time is HIGHLY important for couples. Instead of arranging special Lunches and dinners with your friends, give your better half a day or two just for them. Spend the entire day doing the things you two love and stay really close. Listen to your favorite music, watch your favorite movies, go to your favorite restaurants, in short just what you two love doing together. Couples who spend more quality time together are more attracted to each other and tend to last longer than those who don’t.

3. Help Each Other Grow -  Partners understand each other, they know each others’ strengths and weaknesses. There is no better person to help you grow and better yourself in life than your better half. There is a reasons they’re called your “Better Half” to begin with. You need to completely open up to them and understand them at the same time. The best couples are those who help each other change and do new things, achieve their goals and dreams and make sure they get what they wanted from life.

4. Trust Each Other - Trust is one of the most important words when you’re in a relationship. It sets boundaries and limitations and also makes sure the couple stay loyal to each other. You need to trust your partner blindly and let them do the same to you. If the trust is real, you will never be happier with another person in your life. There is no better feeling than knowing your better half loves you and would never ruin your trust at any cost. Be comfortable and trust them.

5. Love And Respect Each Other
-  You both are different individuals. The reason you two are so compatible is because you’re both totally different from one another. The best relationships are those where things are vibrant and different. You need to respect your partner’s choices in life and make them respect yours. You both need to understand the differences in one another and learn to love them for the sake of a healthy, long-lasting relationship.

6. Through Thick And Thin -  Love doesn’t mean just being with them through the happy days of life and leaving them when they’re down and out. Love is about sticking with them through the worst of times and the best of times. The best couples are those who conquer their hardships together and make it a memory to laugh at in the future. As I said earlier, your better half is your strength, you need to open up to them about everything that bothers you and everything that makes you happy.

7. Don’t Compete With Them - Most modern relationships end because the couples end up competing with each other. The point of being in a relationship is to strengthen each other and make them reach their goals, not compete with them just to make them feel inferior to you. This one goes both ways, I’ve seen both men and women competing against each other, in certain situations, the men are trying to prove they’re “real men” and try getting better than their ladies. And in some cases, the lady feels that her man isn’t giving her as much importance and becomes bigger than him. Stay equal, stay happy.

8. Listen To One Another - Happy couples have a keen interest in really paying attention to what their partners are saying. Not just nodding your head and saying yes to everything, but really listening and understanding. Conversations are the epitome of every relationships and really getting the gist of it is the most important part of it. Couples need to start paying more attention to each other, not in a sexist way either. It’s a thing nowadays that girls should talk and men should listen, I say both of them should talk to each other.

9. Be Intimate, Cuddle and Hug Daily - Cuddling is definitively THE best perk of being in a relationship. It is so important and has so many healthy affects, I actually wrote a whole different article on it which you can read here. Intimacy is highly important in long-term relationships, don’t let the intimacy die after a few years. Even after you have kids, both of you need to make an effort in making each other happy intimately everyday. Don’t give up on intimacy, ever. Hugs and kisses go a long way too. A little kiss before going to work, that romantic candle-lit dinner, or just plain laying under the moonlight can do wonders for intimacy.

10. Keep Realistic Expectations - Don’t act like you’re in a movie. Both of you are human and you need to remind each other to keep realistic expectations from each other. As long as a firm grip on reality Is kept, nothing can create a gap between couples.

To Kill Them With Kindness

*rant*

Every once in a while, life gives you a fairy tale. And in that fairy tale, there are always people contradicting it. Let me grab this opportunity (though I had a lot back then but seemingly not taking it) to "rant" not only for myself but for others too about things that they mind but should not.

How To Be More Romantic

Here's another note.. :)

-

A common relationship complaint is that the romance that you used to have is missing. Or maybe you weren’t romantic enough to start. That’s easy to change with these tips:

·         Think outside the box. Come up with creative date ideas to show that you are really thinking of them rather than always doing the same old thing.

·         Make an effort. Cook for them rather than getting takeout, for example. Going the extra mile and making a special effort to please them shows how much you really care.

·         Remember their favorite things. Take note when they mention their favorite ice cream flavor or favorite childhood movie. They’ll be touched later when you show up with it at your next date.

·         Set the scene. Don’t just invite him or her over to watch a movie. Have candles lit and cozy blankets ready to cuddle up in. Or make sure to have flowers on the table if you’re cooking for them, or their favorite music playing. Spending time on those extra details goes a long way in increasing the romance.

·         Let them know that you’re thinking about them. Send them short texts or emails at random to let them know that they’re on your mind. So sweet and so easy!

·         Inject romance into everyday situations. So what if you are only spending the night studying together? Bring chocolates. Show that you think every date with them is a special occasion.

·         Surprise them. Instead of telling them what you have planned for your next date, make it a surprise. They’ll have more fun anticipating it and it’ll seem more special that you wanted to surprise them.

·         Go all out on special occasions. Even if you both have said that Valentines Day is lame, or that they don’t want to make a big deal out of their birthday, go all out anyway. Show that you’re so crazy about them that you just couldn’t resist spoiling them and making them feel special.

·         Make plans for alone time. It’s fun to hang out in groups and spend time with your friends but make sure to let them know that you want to go to dinner or have your next date be with just the two of you. This will make them feel extra special in knowing that you want them all to yourself

10 Signs That They Are “The One”

I've been busy reblogging on Tumblr and I stumbled upon this note. Quite interesting and might be relatable to all (but that's my opinion). I just want to share it to you all :) Visit my tumblr tho themykadiaries.tumblr.com

You might reeeeeally like you boyfriend or girlfriend but how do you know if it’s more than that? Here are some clues to tell if they are “the one”:

1.    You still get excited to see them. Even if you’ve been together for a long time, if you still get butterflies or excited at the thought of seeing them, it’s safe to say that you have something special.

2.    You picture them when you think of your future. Everyone daydreams of their future life – maybe your wedding, your dream home, kids or travel. Do you picture a generic face along with you or do you picture your boyfriend/girlfriend when you imagine your future? If they have already become part of your future there could be a real possibility that they’ll actually be part of it.

3.    You don’t have to be perfect around them. And they don’t have to be perfect around you and it’s ok. Sure, you want to impress them, but you can also be yourself and let your guard down. Being comfortable enough to do this and still like each other is a sign that you have a close connection.

4.    Your friends and family like them (and visa versa). It’s not essential to the success of a relationship, but it sure helps when your friends and family support your decision to be with him/her. You know that you’re on the right track with someone who is right for you when everyone around you approves.

5.    They are the first person that you want to talk to. When something good or bad happens, when you are struck with a hilarious thought, etc. they should be the one that you’re calling or rushing to tell if they are “the one”.

6.    You have fun even when you’re doing boring stuff. Helping his Grandma clean out her attic or going to her family reunion is fun when you’re with the right person, because you’re just happy to be together. You don’t need flashy dates and parties to have a good time. You’re just happy spending time together.

7.    You still want to impress them. Even though you can be comfortable around each other, do you still strive to catch their eye or impress them with your jokes, ideas and accomplishments? If they are “the one” they should be your biggest fan and that probably feels so great that you love finding new ways of impressing them and keeping their adoration coming.

8.    You can just “be”. You don’t have to entertain each other or be doing specific activities at all times. It’s great when you can just spend a lazy afternoon lying on a blanket in the park just doing nothing but spending time together.

9.    You can tell them anything. Revealing your true feelings isn’t scary when you’re with the right person. In fact, you should look forward to talking and confiding in them. They know you inside and out and you know them the same way.

10. You can’t imagine being with anyone else. Not only do you picture his or her face in your future, but the idea of anyone else being your partner seems totally absurd. You can’t imagine life without them or someone else in their place.

*These are not genuinely true facts and I'm not saying that it's totally right. Feel free to share your opinions! xo
